Paid Internships for College Students!!
Interested in a paid summer internship at a local nonprofit?

The ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program provides 60 paid internships at D.C. and Northern Virginia nonprofits. Eligible applicants are rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors at accredited American colleges and universities. Interested students should apply directly to the nonprofit agencies of their choice. This is a good way to make contacts for future employment, and to network!  These sources list jobs by type of work, location, and give you an idea of what the job is about.  Meet a new friend!  Learn something new.  If you need help with using the computer, please see the LMEC bulletin board in the main hallway for computer classes here at NVMHI or ask you treatment team to go to LMEC in the evenings to take free classes. 

You can call the phone numbers, or ask your social worker to help you with the web site, and information, as well.
Also, there are many positions for GED tutors and literacy.  If you like working one-on-one or in small groups, this is a great way to help yourself and others.
