Support Services Peer support occurs when people provide knowledge, experience, emotional, social or practical help to each other. It commonly refers to an initiative consisting of trained supporters, and can take a number of forms such as mentors, listening, or counseling.

What are peer support groups? Peer supporters link people together. People with a common illness are able to share knowledge, experiences and encouragement.
Peer support is frequent, ongoing, accessible and flexible. Peer support can take many forms – emails, phone calls, community blogs, group meetings and doing activities together.
